Having worked on earlier Corrib Village student accommodation (Dunlin Village) for NUIG, Castle Group was contracted to carry out the ceilings and partitions in Goldcrest, a state-of-the-art 674-bed space across 125 apartments (arranged in clusters of 4-6 en-suite bedrooms). This new student residence is located to the north of the NUI Galway city-centre campus. This project involved the design, build, and fit-out of four multi-story accommodation blocks set around landscaped courtyards. These blocks varied in height from 8 storeys to 4 storeys. Castle Group's role was the supply and installation of partitions and ceilings consisting of Gyproc systems for partitions and multiple ceiling types e.g. Perforated acoustic plasterboard to common areas and staircases, SAS metal tiles, Rockfon Mineral tiles. In addition to this, Castle was tasked with the design supply and installation of the external soffits for all four blocks with Artrays metal framing with prefinished Trespa Cladding panels - Equatone N8 external board.
